Welcome to Sandy Point Backyard Ultra

Experience the thrill of running in the beautiful landscapes of Invercargill, New Zealand with our challenging backyard ultramarathon event. Test your endurance and push your boundaries in this unique running adventure.

So how does this work? Competitors goal is to run a loop which measures 6.7 km in less than 1 hour and do it again on the hour until there's just 1 man standing. Each runner will decide on how fast they complete the loop/yard so that they use their remaining time within the hour to recover, hydrate, eat and nap before the next yard starts on the hour. It's not as easy as it looks.

How many yards can you run?
